Sergei Lavrov unexpectedly spoke out in defense of the disgraced artist. In his opinion, radio stations should be able to broadcast Sofia Mikhailovna’s compositions.
The other day, 75-year-old Sofia Rotaru, who spoke sharply against Russia, paid for her position. It became known that one of the highest-rated Russian radio stations imposed a complete ban on the compositions of the “farmer”. Meanwhile, the reaction of the broadcaster seemed excessive to many. After all, most of the songs of Sofia Mikhailovna were recorded back in Soviet times. Music producer Sergei Lavrov was among those who criticized the decision. Previously, the man spoke extremely negatively about anti-Russian celebrities, but he believes that you should not go too far.
“Of course, the ban is surprising. Brad is complete. You can not ban those songs that are dear to the people. It is impossible to erase Rotaru from memory, this is an old fund that has gone down in history, this is our classic of the Soviet Union, ”Lavrov emphasized.
The same, by the way, applies to the songs of Alla Pugacheva, who calls the Russians “slaves” and “serfs.” Many of her compositions became popular back in Soviet times, it is very difficult, if not impossible, to “cancel” them. Of course, many residents of our country will not want to hear the songs of Rotaru or Pugacheva because of their political positions, but a complete ban is hardly advisable.
Earlier it was reported that Sofia Mikhailovna became a victim of nationalists, who declared the singer a traitor. According to some reports, very serious conditions are set for Rotaru in her homeland, and she cannot disobey the aggressors, fearing for her relatives. The celebrity herself so far prefers not to comment on the situation.
