Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – France says it has not received gas supplies from Russia. This happened when the country was at loggerheads with Moscow over the Ukraine war.
French gas network operator GRTgaz said the gas flow had stopped since June 15. Even so, his party said gas reserves remained in a safe situation.
“There is no risk to French supply at this time, with reserves at 56% capacity compared to 50% in June normally,” the company was quoted as saying. AFPFriday (17/6/2022).
The Russian gas company which is also a supplier to Europe, Gazprom, had previously warned that there would be a supply cut this week. This is due to the disruption of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline which is currently being repaired in Germany.
France gets about 17% of its gas from the gas line. Despite having received an explanation from Moscow, Paris considered this step a political step due to France’s support for Ukraine.
Apart from France, Italy is also starting to feel the supply bottleneck. In a recent report by the Italian energy company, Eni, the country of Pizza will only receive a gas supply of 50% of what is requested.
Russia said this was also caused by the disruption of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline. However, Italian Prime Minister (PM) Mario Draghi called it a lie.
“We were told, it was technical. We and Germany and others believed that this was a lie,” he said after a visit to Ukraine.
Russia’s war on Ukraine has been going on since February 24. So far, there has been no sign of peace. As a result of the attack, Europe, including France, criticized Russia. Even through the European Union, these countries impose sanctions.
