Russia, Ukraine conflict | Putin removed upper age limit for soldiers

It is VG who writes that President Vladimir Putin allegedly signed the new law that removes the age limit.

NTB discussed the bill earlier this week. The law will thus repeal the current law, which states that only Russian citizens between the ages of 18 and 40, and foreign citizens between the ages of 18 and 30, can enlist.

The change applies to people who enlist in voluntary, not compulsory military service.

– There is a need for top specialists who can use precision weapons and military equipment. Such specialists can be between 40 and 45 years old, it is stated in a note that accompanies the bill.

– We must strengthen our military and help the Ministry of Defense. Our leader is doing everything he can to let the army win and increase efficiency, said Vyacheslav Volodin, who is the leader of the State Duma, according to NTB.
