Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, speaking at a meeting of NATO leaders in Brussels, said Belarus’ independence was steadily eroding.

“I hope the President of the United States (US), Biden will send a very clear message about NATO’s firmness and unity, and will react with a very clear message about what is happening,” he said.
Nauseda added that NATO would not have closer ties with Russia as long as Moscow did not change its course.
Meanwhile, previously NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO relations with Russia were at their lowest point since the end of the Cold War. Stoltenberg said this was due to Moscow’s hostile actions.
“This is because of Russia’s aggressive actions. I am confident that NATO leaders will confirm our dual-track approach to Russia, strong defense combined with dialogue,” he said.

“Dialogue is actually a sign of strength as long as we are united, as long as we are strong, then we can talk to Russia,” he said.
