MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday (24/7/2023) that Russia will replace Ukraine for grain exports to Africa.
This was said by Putin after Russia left the agreement on the safe passage of grain exports.
“Russia will continue its energetic efforts to provide Africa with supplies of grain, food products, fertilizers and other goods,” Putin said, published on the Kremlin website, quoted by the AFP news agency.

“I want to give guarantees that our country is able to replace Ukrainian grain both commercially and for free,” he continued.
In its military operations, Russia blockaded Ukraine’s Black Sea ports with warships.
An agreement brokered by the United Nations and Turkiye was then signed in July 2022 to allow grain shipments to be carried out as they were urgently needed.
However, earlier this month Russia walked out of the deal after complaining that its food and fertilizer export agreements had not been enforced.
Moscow later said it might target cargo ships bound for Ukraine via the Black Sea as potential military targets.
