Russia Threatens to Attack Command Center in Kyiv if Ukraine Continues

MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – The Russian military on Wednesday (13/4/2022) threatened to attack the Ukrainian command center in the capital Kyiv, if Ukrainian troops continued to attack Russian territory.

“We see attempts by Ukrainian forces to carry out sabotage and attack Russian territory,” the Russian Defense Ministry said AFP.

“If such cases continue, the Russian armed forces will attack decision-making centers, including in Kyiv,” he continued.

Since President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian invasion to Ukraine on February 24, Moscow accused Kyiv forces of invading southern Russian territory.

Earlier this month Russian troops withdrew from areas north of Kyiv and are now refocusing their efforts on capturing more territory in eastern Ukraine.

Russia’s defense ministry confirmed that its forces now have full control of the port in the besieged city of Mariupol.

They added that Ukrainian troops and members of the Azov battalion had been surrounded and had no chance of escape.

Members of the Azov battalion fought fiercely against Russia in Mariupol, which lies in southeastern Ukraine between Russian-occupied Crimea and pro-Russian separatist territory in eastern Ukraine.
