“Russia Threatens Pre-Emptive Strike If West Supplies Ukraine With Nuclear Weapons, Says Medvedev”

Russia would have to launch a pre-emptive strike if the West provided Ukraine with nuclear weaponssaid the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council and former president of the country Dmitry Medvedev, quoted by Reuters and TASS.

“There are irreversible laws of war. If it comes to nuclear weapons, a pre-emptive strike will have to be made,” Medvedev said. He expressed the opinion that the “Anglo-Saxons” do not fully understand this and think that it will not come to that. “Under certain conditions, it will be possible,” emphasized the former president.

According to him, there is a possibility that the USA and the EU will supply Ukraine not only with F-16 fighters, but also with nuclear weapons. Medvedev expressed this opinion in a conversation with journalists during his visit to Vietnam, TASS notes.

“Europe has gone mad. The US is generally acting in accordance with its pragmatic interests. They don’t fight, they make money. They are trying to destroy an age-old enemy. As for Europe, for me it is an amazing story. They continue to heat up the situation with their decisions” stressed the Russian leader.

Medvedev also expressed the opinion that with some of his recent statements, Kiev is examining the readiness of the Ukrainian public to accept the division of the country, along the lines of Korea, TASS notes.
