Russia threatens: “Do not send missiles with even greater range, we will counterattack”

It did so in response to Ukraine’s renewed appeal to the Washington government to provide missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers, to be used, for example, to hit the newly built bridge connecting the Crimean Peninsula to Russia. So far the United States has refused to do so because it could also hit targets in Russia and drag Americans into war.

Now missiles up to 70 kilometers

“In that case, we will be forced to respond by any means necessary,” threatened the Russian spokesman. The Americans and some European countries have already supplied Ukraine with missiles with a range of up to 70 kilometers, which analysts say contributed to a successful counteroffensive.

Ukraine has already recaptured dozens of towns and cities in the east of the country in recent weeks. In the video below we explain with former commander Mart de Kruif how this is possible:

The delivery of weapons beyond that would lead to a “direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO states,” Moscow said. Heavy artillery delivered to Ukraine caused civilian casualties, according to the spokesman, making NATO guilty of war crimes.

‘Immoral’

Russia previously increased the readiness of its nuclear forces and repeatedly warned of a third world war.

The same ministry also responded to the decision not to invite Russia to the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth last week. “Deeply immoral” and “blasphemous”, the Russians thought it was.

Elizabeth funeral

“We consider this British attempt to use the national tragedy that has touched the hearts of millions of people around the world for geopolitical purposes and to settle scores with our country as deeply immoral,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said. “This is particularly blasphemous to the memory of Elizabeth II.”

Relations between the UK and Russia have reached an all-time low since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Due to the sanctions imposed by the West, leading Russian figures such as President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov are personae non grata in the UK.
