Vladimir Putin suffering from a serious illness, possibly the Parkinson, which will force him to leave the office of president before the expiry of his mandate. The statement comes from the mouth of Valery Solovei, political scientist and former professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations who, however, was dismissed for his views in opposition to those of the Russian leader.
Solovei, speaking to various international media, claims that “Vladimir Vladimirovich intends to leave his post before the deadline due to severe health problems and the read in preparation for the Duma they must be read in this perspective “. He does not specify, however, what pathology he suffers from, even if in 2015, writes the Sun, a team of researchers from the Department of Neurology, il Radboud University Medical Center, in Netherlands, led by Professor Bas Bloem, identified the signs of Parkinson’s in Putin’s pace. Some videos in which the president appears would reveal it trembling while trying to hold on to a chair, or while holding a pen or cup.
In support of his thesis, denied by the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, saying that “it is all nonsense, the president is in excellent health and is fine”, Solovei leads instead two bills which, according to him, are being urgently prepared for the Duma, the Russian Parliament. The first would guarantee criminal immunity for life for former presidents, not only for crimes committed during the exercise of their office, but also by private citizens, so as not to risk criminal proceedings after leaving power. The second, however, would give every former head of state the opportunity to become Senator for life. All measures, if we exclude the urgency with which, according to Solovei, they would have been put on the agenda, however, in line with Putin’s recent policies, in particular the constitutional reform which, in practice, would guarantee him one lifetime presidency.
According to the political opponent, to force the president to leave office with an announcement “By January” it was the family “that has a lot of influence on him”, worried about the worsening of his condition. It remains to be seen to what extent his words are linked to certain proofs or whether they are just an attempt by an opponent of undermine the image of strong man that Putin has built for himself over the past two decades.
