Russia launched one of the largest strikes against Ukraine, using more than 100 different missiles and about 100 Shahed drones, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, quoted by Ukrinform, BTA reported.
In an address published by the press service of the presidential office, Zelensky emphasized that efforts are now being made throughout the country to overcome the consequences of the Russian strike.
The president described the strikes as some of the worst. “More than 100 missiles of various types and about 100 Shahed drones were used.” And like most previous Russian strikes, this one was just as malicious and targeted against important civilian infrastructure,” he says, stressing that most of Ukraine’s regions were affected.
“Unfortunately, people were killed. My condolences to the families and friends of all of them. There are dozens of injured people and all of them are receiving the necessary support,” adds Zelensky.
“There is a lot of damage to the energy sector. But wherever there are power outages, recovery is already underway. Our emergency teams will be working around the clock. We will restore the power supply,” added Zelensky.
“And it is essential that our partners fulfill everything we have agreed upon with them. Air defense systems, missiles for them. And we must also finally proceed to collectively shoot down Russian missiles and drones. Today they were directed at targets in Volyn, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions, as well as our Ternopil region.
In our various Ukrainian regions, we could do much more to protect human life if our European neighbors worked alongside our F-16 (fighter jets) and alongside our air defenses. If such synergy works so clearly in the Middle East, it should work in Europe as well. Life has the same value everywhere,” Zelensky said.
