According to Russian Defense Ministry officials, the high-precision strike was carried out on Saturday morning by an unnamed small missile ship in the Black Sea, obliterating a Ukrainian military facility.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also shared a video of the ship firing four missiles into the dark sky in quick succession Russia TodaySunday (27/3/2022).

The Kalibr cruise missile, which has been widely used by Russia in its military operations in Ukraine, is in several modifications. They can be fired from ships, submarines and aircraft, and are used against a variety of land and water targets.
Some versions of the Kalibr missile are also capable of supersonic sprints in the later stages of flight, making it increasingly difficult for air defense systems to cope.
Moscow sent troops to Ukraine in late February following a seven-year stalemate over Kiev’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreement, and Russia finally recognized the breakaway Donbass republic of Donetsk and Lugansk.

The Minsk Protocol brokered by Germany and France was designed to regulate the status of territories within the Ukrainian state.
Russia has demanded that Ukraine formally declare itself a neutral country that will never join NATO. Another goal of the military operation is, according to Moscow, to “denazify” the country.
Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unwarranted and has refuted claims it had plotted to retake the two republics by force.
