The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, considers negotiating with Moscow a crime. This was conveyed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov in response to various questions about when Russia is ready to negotiate to end the war.
In the midst of many pressures for the Russian government to end the war, on the other hand Lavrov assessed that no one had asked Ukraine to enter into peace talks.
Lavrov then reminded Ukraine’s main sponsor, namely the West, that they kept saying that it was not yet time for negotiations because Ukraine must first win on the battlefield before negotiating.
