Russia shot down 110 Ukrainian drones overnight over Moscow and other regions, the Defense Ministry said today.
In a statement on Telegram, the ministry said air defense intercepted 43 drones over the Kursk region, where Ukrainian troops have been conducting a ground operation since August.
Another 27 drones were shot down over Lipetsk Oblast, 18 over Oryol Oblast and one over the capital, as well as a total of 21 over Nizhny Novgorod, Belgorod and Bryansk Oblasts, the statement said.
The Russian SHOT channel on Telegram reported that drones attempted to strike the State Enterprise Ya. M. Sverdlov in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Region, about 400 kilometers east of Moscow.
The plant, one of the biggest makers of explosives used by Russian forces in Moscow’s February 2022 war against Ukraine, has been sanctioned by the United States and the European Union.
Four firefighters were slightly injured by shrapnel during an attack by a Ukrainian drone on an industrial zone in the city of Dzerzhinsk, the governor of the region said today, without specifying the target attacked.
