Three people were killed and at least 12 were injured, including a two-month-old baby, when Russia shelled a hospital and houses in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, regional governor Oleksandr Prokudin said, Reuters reported, citing BTA.
According to the governor, two people were killed and 10 injured in a combined attack on the city center this afternoon. “Eight vehicles, including ambulances, an administration building, a hospital and at least 15 residential buildings were destroyed or damaged.
Prokudin released video footage showing buildings with broken windows, piles of debris and completely burned ambulances. In a separate announcement, the governor announced that one person was killed and a two-month-old baby and his mother were injured in a shooting at a car in a suburb of Kherson earlier today.
“Just a few hours ago, this pile of charred metal was the car the family was driving home from a doctor’s appointment,” the governor added, posting a video of firefighters working at the scene.
Reuters noted that independent sources could not confirm her reports. Russian troops withdrew from Kherson and the west bank of the Dnieper River late last year, but now regularly bombard the area from positions on the east bank.
Local residents often hear warnings of airstrikes several times a day.
