Russia says it has registered foreign election interference

– Yesterday we registered three targeted attacks from abroad, says the head of the commission’s information center, Alexander Sokoltsjuk.

He added that there is talk of cyber attacks, and that Russia is now preparing for more attacks tomorrow, which is the last day one can vote.

In some regions of Russia, voters can cast their ballots electronically for the first time. The election is held over three days, a decision the authorities have allegedly made for infection control reasons, but which the opposition believes opens up for election fraud.

Russian authorities have previously accused Western social media platforms of interfering in the election because they did not remove information related to the imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
