Russia, which announced on 29 last month to suspend participation in the wheat pact after Ukraine attacked its Black Sea fleet, returned to the pact after four days.

According to Reuters, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement at the 2nd local time: “We have received a guarantee from Ukraine for the demilitarization of sea routes.

“As of now, we believe that the guarantee is sufficient and we will resume implementation of the agreement,” he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin then warned in a televised speech that “Russia still has the right to withdraw from the agreement if Ukraine violates its guarantees”.

On July 22, Ukraine and Russia signed an agreement to ensure the safety of the Black Sea route blocked after the war, allowing the export of crops and fertilizers from both countries.

However, on the 29th of last month, Russia announced that Ukraine had attacked the Black Sea fleet and civilian ships in Crimea and announced that it would suspend its participation in the deal.

As a result, grain exports were temporarily suspended but were partially resumed on the 31st of last month without Russia’s absence.
