“As a result of purposeful steps on the part of NATO, we have no proper conditions for elementary diplomatic activity, and in response to NATO’s actions, we suspend the work of our permanent mission to NATO, including the work of the chief military representative, probably from November 1, or maybe this will take a few more days, “Lavrov said.
Also, the activities of the NATO information office in Moscow are terminated.
“Just today we announced such steps. The NATO International Secretariat has already been notified,” Lavrov said.
Earlier, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that NATO’s decision to cut the Russian mission in Brussels almost completely undermine the prospects for the normalization of relations between Russia and the alliance.
