MADRID, 24 Apr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Russian health authorities have reported this Saturday more than 8,800 new cases of coronavirus and about 400 deaths, a daily balance similar to that of recent days and that maintains the country as the fifth most affected worldwide by the COVID-19 pandemic .
The center that coordinates the fight against the coronavirus has specifically reported 8,828 new positives, up to a total of 4,753,789. In Moscow alone, more than 2,500 cases have been confirmed in 24 hours, to which almost 600 others would be added in the region of the same name.
On the other hand, the death toll has risen to 107,900, 399 more than on Friday, while the number of recovered patients exceeds the threshold of 4.3 million, reports the official Sputnik news agency.
Russia has four vaccines against the coronavirus, including Sputnik V, which has been authorized by 60 countries worldwide. The Russian state firm Rostec has confirmed this Saturday that it plans to register what would be the fifth drug, of a single dose, in late 2021 or early 2022.
