The Russian Foreign Ministry has reiterated that the president Daniel Noboa would have decided not to deliver Russian military equipment to the United States, echoing that country’s unofficial media, Sputnikwhich cites statements by the Russian ambassador to Ecuador, Vladimir Sprinchan.
“Ambassador of Russia to Ecuador Vladimir Sprinchan: The Ecuadorian side confirmed that the country, given its neutral status and permanent membership in the UN, cannot afford to be dragged into a conflict by any of the parties involved,” The Russian Foreign Ministry has posted.
Sprinchan made this statement after holding a meeting with the Ecuadorian president, on Friday, February 16, in Guayaquil, in which the relationship between both countries was analyzed.
This information has not been confirmed or denied by official Ecuadorian sources until the night of Saturday, February 17.a day after the Russian ambassador declared it.

The information has coincided with the decision, announced by the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry on the morning of this Friday, February 16, of an agreement with the Russian phytosanitary organization to revoke the banana export ban of five Ecuadorian companies, due to the alleged existence of a humpback fly.
The Ministry of Production of Ecuador, through its head, Sonsoles García, has emphatically denied that said ban on banana exports has any relationship with President Daniel Noboa’s decision to agree to an exchange for $200 million of what he described as scrap Russian weapons to the United States.to receive new weapons that allow the Armed Forces of Ecuador to face the “internal armed conflict” against organized crime.
