Moscow (EFE).- The Russian Army today regained control of two small towns in the Kursk border region, partially occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces since last August 6, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in its part of daily war
“The units of the Sever (North) military group continued their offensive, within the framework of which they liberated the towns of Novaya Sorochina and Pokrovski,” stated the Russian command.
These are two small towns located northwest of Sudzha, the main city taken by the Ukrainians in the region.
According to Defense, the Russian military continues to fight against nine Ukrainian brigades in the vicinity of Daryino, Novi Put, Lyubímovka and Plekhovo, all close to the recovered towns.
Furthermore, in the vicinity of Lyubimovka and Plekhovo, Russian forces repelled two Ukrainian attacks, causing the enemy about 20 casualties, including dead and wounded.
The military department put the total number of Ukrainian casualties at one hundred during the last day, meaning that the Ukrainian Army would have lost more than 21,350 troops since the beginning of the incursion into Russian territory, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The Air Force and missile units of the Russian Army also attacked the Ukrainian rear in the Sumi region, causing casualties to reserve units of eight Ukrainian brigades.
