Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said today, Tuesday, that Moscow is ready to help enhance the combat capabilities of the Algerian armed forces.
This came during his meeting in Russia with the Chief of Staff of the Algerian Armed Forces, Said Chenegriha.

Chanegriha’s official visit falls within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the Algerian army and the Russian armed forces, and will enable the two parties to discuss issues of common interest, according to a communiqué from the Algerian Ministry of Defense.
Russia is interested in expanding military cooperation with non-Western countries, while facing a counteroffensive in Ukraine in the conflict that began 17 months ago.
Last June, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visited Moscow, where he met his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.
According to the announcement published at the time on the Kremlin’s website, Russia and Algeria, in particular, intend to strengthen their cooperation at the military level and in the field of energy.
