Russia Ready to Attack Foreign Ships Entering Their Territory Sea

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

A military officer Russia said his country was ready to launch attacks on foreign ships and submarines that entered the country’s territorial seas illegally, Monday (14/2).

The official told the Interfax news agency that a decision on the attack would be taken when the situation reached its highest level Reuters.

Meanwhile, the United States denied it was carrying out military operations in Russia’s territorial sea, Saturday (12/2).

Previously, Russia said its ships had chased a US submarine visiting Russian waters in the Pacific.

According to a report by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the chase took place while the Russian military was holding an exercise. The warship Marshal Shaposhnikov detected the US Navy’s Virginia submarine.

“When the US submarine ignored Russia’s request to come out to the surface, the frigate crew ‘used the proper means’, and the US submarine left at high speed,” the Russian defense ministry said.

In addition, Russia claims to have contacted the US Embassy in the country over this incident.

“In connection with the violation by the submarine of the US Navy, the defense attache at the US Embassy in Moscow was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the ministry wrote.

However, the US military denied the reports and said it had not carried out any operations in Russian waters.

“We are sailing and operating safely in international waters,” said a spokesman for US Indo-Pacific Command, Captain Kyle Raines, without specifying the ship’s operating point.

This conflict occurs when relations between Russia and Ukraine are getting worse.

The US has warned that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could start at any time. However, the claim was seen by Russian President Vladimir Putin as a mere provocation.
