Russia summoned the French charge d’affaires on Tuesday to communicate its protest against the publication of “false accusations” about atrocities committed by Russian troops in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry reported in Moscow.
Russia “strongly protested against statements published by the embassy [de Francia] on social media,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“It is unacceptable to make those kinds of false accusations against our military,” he added.
The document targets France for “actively supplying military equipment and ammunition to the Ukrainian army, thus doing everything possible to prolong hostilities” in the former Soviet republic.

Moscow expresses in particular its dissatisfaction with the attribution to Russian troops of the massacre of civilians in Bucha, near kyiv, where numerous corpses were discovered after the withdrawal of Russian troops.
Ukraine marked the first anniversary of the gruesome discovery on Sunday.
Russia denies any involvement in these atrocities and denounces a “staging” orchestrated by the Ukrainian authorities.
The Russian Foreign Ministry again rejected on Tuesday the “unfounded” accusations, made “without evidence” and without an “objective investigation” into what happened.
Ukraine estimates that some 1,400 civilians, including 37 children, were killed during the Russian occupation of the Bucha district. In the city of Bucha itself, the Ukrainian balance is 637 dead.
