Russia has submitted a proposal for a resolution in the UN Security Council in which they ask for a humanitarian ceasefire in the war between Hamas and Israel.
The resolution contains a condemnation of violence against civilians and all forms of terrorism. The proposed resolution also demands that all hostages be released, that humanitarian aid be allowed to arrive and that civilians be evacuated safely.
The text was presented to the members of the Security Council in a closed meeting.
