The Russia is preparing to counterattack in the face of a social media decision. The latter such as Facebook, have in fact decided to put a label on each page that is editorially and financially controlled by the government of a lambda country. A fine will be paid
When they land on Status Pages, they become less likely to like or share them. The situation angered the Russia who wants to retaliate. Indeed, Anton Gorelkin, a parliamentarian from the Russian majority party, tabled a bill aimed at sanctioning social networks that act in this way. The aim of this law is to apply punitive measures against any social media that will be found guilty of having acted in a discriminatory manner against a Russian media. For this, the law proposes a fine of 39,000 dollars, for the social network which will be accused for such facts.
YouTube recently made a similar decision
The sanctions could go further, if a social network persists in its discrimination, despite the fines. Thus, the latter could even be banned from the Russia. note that Facebook is not the only platform that labels state media. We also find, YouTube who recently decided to do this.
