The Russian government is causing a stir with a depressing figure skating video. This is considered an allusion to the case of 15-year-old Kamila Valiyeva.
On Friday, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video that caused outrage and confusion on the internet. The clip shows a young figure skater standing alone in an ice rink. Suddenly, six people dressed in black step onto the ice and surround the young girl. In the next sequence, the Russian military stands in front of the runner to symbolize her protection. The ghostly-looking ghosts, dressed in a dark cloak, are thus driven away and the girl protected. A symbol for the Valiyeva case. Russia wants to portray itself as the protector of the 15-year-old, who suffered from public pressure after her positive doping test. Despite everything, their coaches let them compete.

In the individual freestyle Valiewa was completely off the role and fell. Especially in focus: trainer Eteri Tutbierdse, who is known for her tough training methods. She only symbolically comforted the crying girl after the run.
