MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia must work with the Taliban government in Afghanistan, Vladimir Putin said Friday at a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), which brings together Russia, China and four countries from Central Asia.
During the meeting which was held by videoconference, the Russian president clarified that Russia was in favor of holding a UN conference on Afghanistan and called on the main world economic powers to unblock Afghan assets. .
