Details of choosing the venue for the decisive matches of the current Champions League draw have become known.
According to Bild, three countries claimed to hold a mini-tournament in one of their cities: Germany (Frankfurt), Portugal (Lisbon) and Russia (Moscow). Russia dropped out faster than the rest, as the UEFA leadership considered the epidemiological situation in the country unsuitable for organizing competitions.
According to the publication, Portugal won the fight for the right to hold a mini-tournament.
Earlier it was reported that the two-match confrontation in the Champions League playoff rounds starting from the quarter finals will be canceled, and the teams will determine the winner in one meeting.
