Russia Likely Reinforces 58th Combined Arms Army with Additional Airborne Units: Intelligence Report

Russia has likely reinforced the 58th Combined Arms Army, which suffered heavy losses in the Orekhovsky direction, with additional airborne units over the past two weeks.

Details: Intelligence indicates that now at least five airborne regiments from the 7th and 76th divisions are likely concentrated a few kilometers from the front-line village of Robotino.

At full strength, this group should number about 10,000 elite paratroopers. However, these units are likely to be significantly understaffed.

The Airborne Forces leadership will most likely consider the current situation extremely unsatisfactory.

Throughout the war, the Russian command tried to restore the Airborne Forces as a highly mobile strike force for offensive operations. But near Robotin, paratroopers are used as infantry to reinforce overburdened ground forces.

Background:

Earlier, British Defense Ministry intelligence reported that Russian troops were preparing for a Ukrainian attack on the city of Tokmak in the Zaporozhye region.
