The Condor-FKA No. 1 satellite successfully separated from the Fregat upper stage and entered the assigned orbit.
A Soyuz-2.1a carrier rocket with the first civilian radar satellite Condor-FKA No. 1 was successfully launched in the Amur Region of Russia. This was announced by Roscosmos on the night of Saturday, May 27.
The rocket was launched from the Vostochny Cosmodrome at 00:14 Kyiv time. This year it is the eighth launch of a Russian launch vehicle and the first from the Vostochny Cosmodrome.
Later it became known that the Condor-FKA No. 1 satellite successfully separated from the Fregat upper stage and entered the specified orbit.
It is alleged that Condor-FKA was developed by the military-industrial corporation Scientific and Production Association of Mechanical Engineering, taking into account the world’s advanced technologies in the space sector. The device is designed to provide round-the-clock all-weather sounding of the continental regions of the Earth and the waters of the World Ocean. It can take images of the earth’s surface around the clock and in any weather, including heavy cloud cover. The mass of the satellite is 1050 kg.
Earlier it was reported that Zimbabwe will cooperate with Russia on the creation and launch of small spacecraft.
