Russia launches missile strikes on Ukraine. Russia’s foreign ministry earlier said it could not ignore attacks on oil tankers in the Black Sea.
Russian hypersonic missile Kinzhar and cruise missile Kalibr have targeted a helicopter engine manufacturing company in Zaporizhia region in southeastern Ukraine and Khmelnytsky region in western Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a speech. Some of the missiles were shot down.
Russia also bombed a blood transfusion center in Kupyansk, Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, late on Friday, he said.

Russia’s Federal Maritime and River Transport Agency said there were no casualties in the drone attack on the Russian tanker Sig, which was sailing in the Kerch Strait near the Crimean Peninsula. The tanker did not sink and is scheduled to be repaired on June 6.
Ukraine said the tanker was carrying fuel for the Russian military. A Ukrainian official familiar with the matter said the drone attack was an operation of the Ukrainian Security Service.
