On the 25th, Russia carried out a large-scale airstrike on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv (Russian name Kyiv) by mobilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) and missiles.
Early this morning, the military government in Kiwu said, “(Russian forces) launched a large-scale attack targeting the city of Kiwu, which activated the air defense system on the outskirts of the city.”
Ukrainian authorities issued an air raid warning at 1:40 am on the same day, and sirens sounded for more than three hours in the area of Kiu and most of eastern Ukraine.
The exact extent of the damage is yet to be ascertained.
Ukrainian authorities have urged residents of areas where air raid warnings have been issued to avoid access to the air defense operation area and to stay in shelters for the time being to seek safety.
The Ukrainian military authorities have revealed the specific circumstances of Russia’s use of Iranian-made Shahed drones in the raid, and announced that all drones have been shot down by air defense systems.
The Russian side did not give specifics about the attack.
The airstrike is the sixth large-scale airstrike against Ukraine this month.
■ Large-scale air strikes continued
Local media are interpreting the airstrike in the area of Kuiu as retaliation for the Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow, the Russian capital, the previous day (24th).
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said two non-residential buildings, including one near the Russian Ministry of Defense downtown, were attacked by Ukrainian military drones on the morning of the 24th.

Russia is also stepping up bombardment of ports and logistics infrastructure in southern Ukraine following the termination of the Black Sea Grain Agreement.
In particular, airstrikes have been continuing for a week in the Odessa region, which was one of the major grain export ports under the agreement.
At dawn on the 24th, Ukraine attacked the Danube River infrastructure, which was used as a new route after the Crimean Peninsula, which was used as a grain export route, was taken away by Russia.
