The cruise missiles were fired from the warships.
“More than 50 generals and officers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday Russia TodayMonday (20/6/2022).
The attack took place near the village of Shirokaya Dacha in the Dnepropetrovsk Region. According to the Moscow military, the attack hit the compound where the commanders of several Ukrainian units had gathered for a meeting.

The ministry added that Kalibr cruise missiles were also used to destroy 10 M777 howitzers and about 20 armored vehicles recently delivered from Western countries. The weapons were previously stored in a factory building in the southern city of Nikolayev.
Ukraine’s military has not commented on the Russian strike, which it claims killed dozens of its generals.
In contrast, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Sunday that their artillery had destroyed several Russian multiple rocket launchers.
Russia has been attacking Ukraine since February 24 under the pretext of demilitarizing and de-Nazifying Ukraine. As of today (20/6/2022), the war has entered its 117th day.
Kiev, which is backed by Western countries, including the United States, considers the reasons for the Russian invasion far-fetched and unjustified.
