Russia is probably trying to surround the fortified Ukrainian positions in the east, according to the British Ministry of Defense, BTA reports.
There is information that the town of Kreminna has fallen, and heavy fighting is taking place in the southern part of the town of Izyum. Russian forces are trying to advance on the cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk.
“Ukrainian forces are preparing their defenses in Zaporizhia, preparing for a potential Russian attack from the south,” the ministry’s regular bulletin said.
