Russia is preparing a new wave of attacks, it will mobilize 500 thousand soldiers

KIEV – Russia will mobilize up to 500 thousand conscription (conscription) for a series of attacks over the next few months. The warning was issued by the defense chief Ukraine .

Deputy head of Ukrainian military intelligence Vadym Skibitsky said the recruits would take part in raids during the spring and summer in the east and south of the country.

Currently, Ukrainian officials have reported that there are 280,000 Russian ground troops deployed in the country.

“We expect them to carry out attacks in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, as well as maybe Zaporizhzhia, but to defend Kherson and Crimea, that’s how many people they need for such a task,” Skibitsky said when asked to explain why they expected such a surge of troops.

Skibitsky said the latest wave of mobilizations would take place on January 15 after a holiday period in which Russia tries to “beat” Ukraine with a large force.

Russia has denied it is preparing a second wave of general demonstrations with Vladimir Putin calling it “useless” last month.

The Kremlin earlier called for a 36-hour ceasefire on Friday in line with the Russian Orthodox Christian holiday season.

However, Ukraine refused the armistice, which was described by Volodymyr Zelensky as to halt the advance of its troops into the Donbass and bring the equipment, ammunition and mobilized men closer to Ukrainian army positions.
