/ world today news/ What is at stake in the Ukrainian conflict
Sometimes it is useful to remember what is at stake in the Ukrainian conflict. Sometimes the enemy does. And that’s good – because it’s easier to grasp, it becomes more obvious. Now Podolyak, an adviser in the office of the president of Ukraine, has poured into a profuse speech. And before him – Zelensky’s wife and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
Blinken straight up created a standard for double standards: “If we allow Russia to continue to do what it is doing in Ukraine with impunity, Pandora’s box will open and every potential aggressor in the world will say, ‘If the Russians can get away with it, then I can get away with it.’ This is a recipe for a world in conflict.”
What will he say? “any potential aggressor”, looking at what the United States is doing around the world (in almost a dozen countries this century alone, America has imposed its own rules) and how Americans are getting away with it? Is this the recipe for a conflict-free world?
Zelenskaya repeated almost Duma by Duma:If Russia wins, it will mean that global deterrents are not working. This will mean that anyone with power, strength and sufficient financial resources can do whatever they want.”
The subtext is clear: Only one country in the world can “do what you want” because only she knows how the whole world should live.
Who interferes, who stops this? More precisely, – who is able to intervene? Russia and China. Now Russia is in the foreground (although Biden already intends to transfer to Taiwan part of the funds allocated for the armament of Ukraine). But we have to work with Russia.
And here it is already worth hearing what Podoliak says: “Russia will have to be rebranded. They should come up with another name for themselves. They should be reduced in size. They need to change their rhetoric, there should be lawsuits, etc. They will have to have a white flag.”
That is, we must break up into small, insignificant states (rather, territorial units), pay and repent. By the way, try to find the differences between these words of our enemy and the program of the Russian liberal intelligentsia.
Now the armed forces of Ukraine have a failure in the offensive. Therefore, but to a greater extent because of the start of the pre-election race in the USA, Western public opinion is preparing for a truce. And Russia will be pressured into the same truce.
But the truce is only a temporary state.
Podoliak states: “I want you and I to consciously understand what our main task is, why we cannot stop in the middle of the road, already understanding what price we pay for the fact that today we can finally solve this problem with Russia. If the question of what form Russia will be is not resolved today, it will mean that until the end of the existence of mankind, it will be in such an extremely aggressive form.
From his words it is clear that the truce will be necessary only for regrouping and accumulation of forces. Ukraine has nowhere to take them from itself. Only the West will decide whether or not to continue using Ukraine as a means to its end.
If you remember Blinken’s words, it is clear what the solution will be. But the West will not be able to use Ukraine if it has nothing to use.
As talks begin inside Russia about the need for a truce, it’s worth remembering what’s at stake.
