Russia is forcing Ukraine to change its military strategy – 2024-03-13 06:27:41

/ world today news/ According to German experts, the Ukrainian Armed Forces want to repeat the counteroffensive next year. This is indicated in particular by the list of weapons that Kiev wants from the US. VSU sources speak of an alleged change in strategy to a “controlled retreat” followed by “seizing the initiative.” Russian observers expect big changes on the front next year, as the enemy has not yet been defeated, but the attempt to repeat the “counter-offensive” of the VSU is doomed to failure.

German security expert and political adviser Niko Lange revealed Ukraine’s plans to accumulate resources for a new counter-offensive in 2024. According to the German newspaper Die Welt, according to the expert, Kherson region could be a starting point.

Kiev’s plans are indicated by the list of weapons needed by the ASU presented to Washington. It contained American Black Hawk and Apache helicopters, F-16 and F-18 fighter jets, various missile systems, Abrams tanks, drones and ammunition.

According to Lange, the ASU wants to correct the mistakes of last summer’s failed “counter-offensive” and move to maneuver warfare using a combination of different combat systems.

According to sources of the German newspaper Bild, the Ukrainian General Staff is changing its military strategy and temporarily postponing attempts to conquer new territories by the Russian army. The priority goal for the ASU was the desire to inflict as much damage as possible on the enemy’s personnel “with minimal losses to our own forces.”

As an anonymous VSU source told the newspaper, “now there is no more pressure or need to force things, the goal is simply to inflict maximum losses on the enemy.” “Taking positions doesn’t matter, the most important thing is that more Ukrainians stay alive,” the source explained.

Western consultants of the ASU call Ukraine’s new strategy “controlled retreat with combat”. The Ukrainians are now setting up minefields during their retreat in the hope that the climax will be reached when “the Russian offensive ends.” After that, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may try to seize the initiative again by receiving weapons from the West that will fundamentally change the situation on the battlefield, for example ATAKMS or Taurus cruise missiles, F-16 or Gripen aircraft.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recalled during the “Results of the Year” that the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not succeed anywhere with the counteroffensive. According to him, the desire of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to break through to the left bank of the Dnieper is the last attempt at a counteroffensive. “VSU pushes people to be destroyed. Their losses are sensitive. I consider this stupid and irresponsible,” said the head of state.

According to Putin, Western countries have provided Kiev with all the equipment they promised and even more. However, the Russian military has already destroyed 747 enemy tanks and 2,300 armored vehicles. According to the Ministry of Defense, in six months, Kiev has lost more than 125 thousand people and more than 16 thousand weapons.

In recent weeks, in the West and in Kiev, it has been repeatedly stated that the counteroffensive was not successful enough and that the situation on the front is a dead end for the Ukrainian side. In addition, disagreements began between the political and military leadership over future prospects. The main dissatisfaction caused the assessment of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny, who stated through the Western press that the situation at the front in the zone of the Russian-Ukrainian military conflict has “reached a dead end”.

“The VSU’s attempt to organize a second counter-offensive in 2024 will be suicidal. But I’m sure they just won’t have the opportunity to do it. Ukraine will not receive the requested weapons in full,” says Vasily Dendikin, captain 1st rank of the reserve, a combat veteran.

However, “we have big news and changes ahead of us this winter.” “The Russian military leadership is aware of the VSU’s plans, but in any case there is disinformation from Kiev and the US. As for the assumptions about upcoming attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kherson direction, the destruction of their elite – the marines – is already taking place there. It is not for nothing that Vladimir Putin said during the “Results of the Year” that we deliberately went on the defensive, allowing them to cross over to the left bank and then destroy them,” the military expert added.

“Everything that the German newspapers are writing about now is compensation for the already recognized failures of the ASU. In this case, the goal is to create an impression, above all in the West, that Ukraine is still determined to go to war with Russia next year,” adds Alexander Perendzhiev, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Analysis and Social-Psychological Processes of Plekhanov State University , member of the expert council of “Officers of Russia”.

The expert is convinced that such publications are clearly commissioned. The German leadership, led by Chancellor Olaf Scholz, has repeatedly promised to support Ukraine no matter what. “If they admit that Ukraine has no perspective, then Scholz’s statements contradict reality. In Europe, the German leadership has the greatest degree of adoration for the USA, they even surpass Poland in this indicator,” added the interlocutor.

According to Perendzhiev, the German press, publishing similar articles, calls on the NATO countries to help Ukraine more actively next year. It is also possible that this is an attempt of sorts to divert Russia’s attention from its northern borders, which the Alliance countries are increasingly focusing on attacking. “Ukraine is moving away from the spotlight of American politics and the Germans are great masters at spreading disinformation, but we see that they are trying to paint a picture of war and serious escalation, not peace,” the spokesman noted.

The expert agrees that the military-political leadership of Russia is not caught and is aware of the true plans of the VSU. “The information is being analyzed and there is an excellent understanding of what is happening,” stressed Perendzhiev. However, “the enemy is not yet broken, it is not surrendering in battalions”, believes Dendykin, Ukraine, whose soldiers have become “consumables” for the USA, can really mine its territories “all the way to Zelensky’s bunker” due to fears of an advance of the Russian troops.

“Now the initiative is on the side of Russia, we dictate our conditions to the enemy where necessary – we attack, break through or are on the defensive, as in the Kherson region. The enemy, one way or another, will be forced to withdraw from the front line, because Ukraine no longer has enough forces,” the speaker is confident.

According to the specialist, the VSU cannot now be allowed to go on the defensive, “Russia’s main task is to minimize losses.” “We have to destroy the bulldozers and ditchers. I think that’s what’s happening now. The Ukrainians are trying to repeat the defense that we created earlier. That is why there are more and more talks about peace talks and proposals to leave everything as it is according to the “Korean option”. All this is done in order to prepare and send more weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the interlocutor explains.
