/ world today news/ The American ambassador in Moscow contacted the Russian side during the “Wagner” riot to assure it that the USA had nothing to do with him. Nevertheless, Russian security services are investigating possible Western involvement in the events of June 24, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said yesterday in an interview with RT TV.
He said Western countries are using all means against Russia – military, economic and propaganda, citing a CNN report as an example that US intelligence likely had information about the Wagner riot days before it began and the West expected it lead to bloody internal conflict.
Lavrov emphasized that relations between the West and Russia have been actively undermined by Western countries and “they no longer exist.”
