“Russia Increases Counterintelligence and Police Regime in Annexed Crimea Amidst Advancing Army and Civilian Checks”

Russia has stepped up its counterintelligence and police regime in annexed Crimea, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces announced in its regular evening operational report.

Since April 26, the number of patrols has been increased, police posts on local roads have been reinforced with FSB officers who carry out random checks on civiliansincluding checks on mobile phones and the presence of Russian passports, the BBC clarifies.

The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Marinka. The Russian army is advancing, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the defense.

In the Marinka region, the cases of collective refusal to participate in hostilities in the Russian units are becoming more frequent, the General Staff reported.

The main reasons are the big lossesthe untimely supply of ammunition, the lack of personal protective equipment and forcing the soldiers to attack without the support of heavy equipment and artillery.

They fear that Western support will wane

During the day, Russia fired one missile and 29 airstrikes and carried out about 12 shelling from MLRS on units of the Ukrainian army and populated areas. There were deaths and injuries among the civilian population, and private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
