MOSCOW – Moscow hopes that the Russian military operation in Ukraine may end in the near future, perhaps “in the coming days.”

The statement was made by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to Sky News, Thursday (7/4/2022).

“Either the country’s forces will end it by achieving their military objectives or Moscow and Kiev will reach an agreement through negotiations,” he said.

“The prospect of a peace deal will depend largely on the “consistency” of Ukraine’s stance and its willingness to agree to Russia’s terms,” Peskov said.

He specifically noted that those responsible for crimes against civilians in the Donbass should be brought to justice.

When asked about the accusations leveled by Kiev against Moscow over the alleged mass killing of civilians near Kiev, Peskov insisted such claims were simply “bold fakes”.
