Russia: Hitting the Ukrainians with drones – Ammunition warehouse caught fire – 2024-09-21 16:01:06

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that more than a hundred Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over Russian territory overnight, in raids that it said caused limited damage but no casualties.

“101 Ukrainian drones (…) were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems in service,” the ministry said via Telegram.

43 of them were destroyed in the airspace of the Bryansk region (west), which neighbors Ukraine. The local administration assured that according to the first information, there are no victims or damage.

Another 18 were destroyed in Krasnadar (southwest), a region neighboring Crimea, the Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014.

According to its regional governor, Benjamin Kantratiev, the fall of drone debris caused a “fire, which spread to explosives” in the Tikharetsky district. Residents were quickly evacuated, however no damage was reported, he added via Telegram.

Recently, Moscow has been announcing almost daily shooting down of dozens of Ukrainian drones.
