At least 11 people died on Saturday and another 15 were injured in a shooting on Russian military ground in the Belgorod region, on the border with Ukraine, the Russian defense ministry said, denouncing an “attack”.
“Two citizens of a CIS country committed an attack,” the Russian Defense Ministry said, referring to the Commonwealth of Independent States, an alliance of several former Soviet republics. “While conducting shooting training with people who volunteered to take part in the special military operation (in Ukraine), the terrorists opened fire with automatic weapons on members of the unit.”
“During the shooting, 11 people were fatally injured. Fifteen others suffered injuries of varying severity and were taken to health facilities where they are receiving the necessary treatment. According to the ministry, “the two terrorists were killed during a response fire”. He did not provide further details on the identity of the victims and perpetrators of the shooting.
