Russia has stated what it expects from NATO and the United States to sit down at the negotiating table with Ukraine and seek a solution to the conflict.
Alexander Darchiev, head of the North American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, indicated the two conditions that must be met in order to start “serious negotiations” for peace in Ukraine. Without them, according to Darchiev, it is “impossible” for any dialogue to take place.
The Russian diplomat commented to the TASS agency that, first of all, NATO and the United States should stop their financial and military aid to Ukraine, as well as recognize the “true situation on the territory of the country”.
It will be too early to start talks on security guarantees in the context of the conflict in Ukraine and the Euro-Atlantic region, as the United States and NATO continue to inject military and financial aid into the Kiev regime, Darchiev said, adding that now the ball is in US court.
The diplomat indicated as another important condition that all “US and NATO military representatives leave the territory of Ukraine.”
Under the current circumstances, Moscow cannot trust the United States and the West, Darchiev also stressed.
