After the training, parts of the 41st Army remained about 260 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. In recent days, the United States has also reported a significant concentration of troops on the Ukrainian border, as well as published satellite images, allowing anyone to see some of the assembled forces, most of which have arrived since the end of September.

Russia has repeatedly increased its military contingent on the border with Ukraine, which has occupied and effectively controls its forces in the eastern areas since 2014, continuing active hostilities in the conflict zone, which has led to a further increase in casualties. Previously, Moscow escalated the conflict by concentrating its forces on the border in the spring.

Although Western media had previously reported on the withdrawal of new Russian forces north of Ukraine, Ukraine initially denied this, stating that no such activity had been detected. It was only after the satellite images were published that Ukraine acknowledged the concentration of these forces, but pointed out that they had not been contracted, but had not been withdrawn after the exercise.

In the satellite images taken by Maxar Technologies, analysts have counted about a thousand military vehicles at the Armed Forces deployments near Yelnyna, while the concentration of army units has been observed near Bryansk and Kursk.

Since the Russian army occupied Crimea and entered the eastern regions of Ukraine, some 14,000 people have lost their lives in the interstate war that Russia is trying to portray as Ukraine’s internal conflict.
