Russia gets half of its missiles from North Korea

Half of the roughly three million artillery shells a year used by Russia come from North Korea, The Times newspaper said, citing Western intelligence data.

According to the source of the British newspaper, which cited information, Russia became dependent on supplies from North Korea after President Vladimir Putin visited Pyongyang earlier this year.

Western intelligence predicts that many of North Korea’s missiles may be defective, but it is their number that has allowed Russia to achieve lasting success on the battlefield.

However, the Times source said, Russia is suffering heavy losses in Ukraine – 1,200 troops per day, including 480 in the fight for the city of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region alone.

The official also said that Russia is not yet able to capture Pokrovsk at the same time and push Ukrainian forces out of Kursk Oblast without a major movement, but the Russian authorities have yet to take that step.

“We don’t see any signs that Putin is giving up his main goal – destroying Ukraine’s sovereignty. I don’t see any prospect of talks in the near future,” the source said. .

South Korea estimates that Russia may have received five million artillery shells from North Korea by the summer of 2024, European Pravda said.

Recently, there have also been allegations of new deliveries of North Korean ballistic missiles to Moscow.
