Russia Freezes Finnish Embassy and Consulate Bank Accounts in Response to Unfriendly Actions

The Kremlin said on Thursday that the decision to freeze the bank accounts of the Finnish embassy and consulate in Russia is a response to unfriendly actions.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, quoted by the agency. TASSreports “European truth“.

“This is not an initiative move on the Russian side – we are reacting to the situation that the authorities of a number of countries of the collective West are creating, including, unfortunately, Finland,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

“We always say that we cannot leave unfriendly actions unanswered and will not leave them unanswered,” Peskov said.

The Finnish Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that Russia froze accounts of country missions that missions make payments in cash.

Finland, which has a long border with Russia, formally joined NATO April 4 as a result of the historic change of policy caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine.
