Russia first struck a tunnel in Transcarpathia – 2024-08-03 22:16:28

/ world today news/ Military expert Matviychuk tells how the loss of this site will affect Ukraine

On Friday, August 11, the Russian Aerospace Forces appeared to launch a missile strike against a tunnel in Transcarpathia for the first time. Some time after the air operation, Ukrainian sources reported a strike on a certain civilian object. In addition, as a result of strikes, enemy military airfields were damaged in a number of areas.

According to military expert retired colonel Anatoly Matvichuk, Russia has declared all Ukrainian airports as target #1. It is from here that the Ukrainian planes carrying NATO’s long-range missiles can take off.

An air alert was announced during the day in Khmelnytskyi, Vinyshka, Kyiv region, as well as in Ivano-Frankivsk. Later it was reported that loud explosions had been heard in all the marked places.

Despite the fact that the enemy, as a rule, remains silent after the strikes, some objects still became known. It appears that this time most of the hits were intended for enemy airfields. An explosion erupted near Zhulyani Airport in Kyiv. In the Khmelnytsky region, a new attack was made on the Starokonstantinov military airfield. In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, an overflight was registered at Kolomyia Airport. According to some reports, the airfield where the Storm Shadow missile carriers are based has been completely destroyed.

– All airports located on the territory of Ukraine have been declared targets #1 for destruction. The fact is that Su-24 and Su-27 aircraft are based on them – they are carriers of long-range missiles such as Storm Shadow, TAURUS, etc. Therefore, all the strikes we made are absolutely legal, they were legitimate targets. for the Russian Federation – military expert, former intelligence officer Anatoly Matviychuk told “MK”.

News of an attack on a civilian object in the Carpathian region appeared on Ukrainian resources. The Telegram channel “SVO Summary and Analysis” writes about the attack on the tunnel: “The attack on the tunnel in the Transcarpathian region has been confirmed. It was worked with “Dagger”.

According to the expert Anatoly Matviychuk, with the attack on the tunnel, the Russian army cut off part of the supplies to Ukraine from the NATO countries:

– If so, this is very positive news. For a long time we did not strike this site, as we considered this infrastructure to be civilian, providing the life of the country. But the fact is that according to international law, a civilian object that is used for military purposes is automatically considered military.

These tunnels in the Carpathians are used to transfer Western machinery. And I think we struck to prevent the supply of weapons from Poland and Romania to stop the growth of the forces of the Ukrainian army.

Information about objects in other areas is still too little. In Vinnytsia Oblast, in addition to logistics centers and fuel depots, there are several key facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Attacks could be made on the 48th arsenal in Kalinovka, as well as on the base of the 748th separate radar company.

It is also possible to retest the facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Yamnitsa, Ivano-Frankivsk region. There, in the industrial zone of a large cement plant, the armed forces of Ukraine could equip logistics terminals to receive and store NATO weapons and ammunition.

In the Khmelnytsky region, in addition to the Starokonstantinov airport, experts recall, there is the 1282nd center for providing armored weapons and equipment, the base of the 19th missile brigade, the 8th separate special forces regiment, the 48th separate engineering brigade, 143rd Demining Center.
