Significant price increases up to historic all-time highs characterize the markets worldwide, and thus also the Russian market for standard thermoplastics in February 2021. PE grades, PP and PET are growing in the double-digit percentage range. Despite the tense global supply situation, the prices for PVC felt almost on the spot.
The sales prices for PE-LD climbed by 15.1 percent and thus reached a record high, according to the plastics information industry service (KI, Bad Homburg). At its peak, the surcharges for individual types of film even amounted to 17.9 percent. The bottom line is that this led to a decline in order activity, because it is currently quite difficult for local processors to enforce the new price levels with their customers promptly.
