Russia will soon replenish its army in Ukraine with a “special Buryat battalion” formed by North Korean soldiers. This is reported by LIGA.net, citing its source in the Ukrainian military intelligence. The North Koreans will serve as part of the Russian Army’s 11th Separate Assault Brigade.

According to the interlocutor of the publication, the approximate number of personnel in this battalion is about 3,000 people. The military is now supplied with small arms and ammunition.

According to intelligence officers, this special battalion could participate in combat missions near Suja and Kursk, where the fighting between the Ukrainian armed forces and the Russians is taking place.

A few days ago, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun said that the DPRK may send its military to Ukraine. According to other sources, a certain contingent of North Korean troops is already present on Ukrainian soil – in the occupied territories.

Subsequently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that North Korea had effectively joined Russia in the war against Ukraine.

North Korea (DPRK) may send up to 100 thousand of its soldiers to help Russia. And this will definitely become a big problem for Ukraine, believes major of the reserve of the National Guard of Ukraine, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, military analyst Alexei Hetman.
