MOSCOW, KOMPAS.com – Russia on Tuesday (1/8/2023) said it downed a Ukrainian drone that targeted Moscow and ships in the Black Sea,
An office block in the capital’s main business district was also attacked for the second time in as many days.
“Two Ukrainian (drones) were destroyed by an air defense system over the territory of the Odintsovo and Narofominsk districts of the Moscow region,” the Russian Defense Ministry said, quoted by the AFP news agency.

“Another drone was chased by electronic warfare, and after losing control, crashed in the Moscow City area,” he continued.
On Sunday (30/7/2023), Russian defense downed a drone in the same district. The debris damaged two office towers, blew out several windows, and scattered documents onto the sidewalk.
“One flew to the same tower in (Moscow) City as last time,” Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Telegram.
The facade on the 21st floor was damaged and a number of windows were shattered, he added.

He added that emergency services had gone to the scene and there was no information on casualties.
“We heard a big bang, there was no panic,” local resident Arkady Metler, 29, told AFP.
“No one should be afraid… we can do nothing but stick together,” Metler said.
